Direct Release: Ooredoo Picks Up Five Asia-Pacific Stevie Award Honours

Indosat Honoured in ‘Most Innovative Company of the Year’ category

Ooredoo was awarded five Stevie’s at the second annual Asia-Pacific Award ceremony held in Shanghai on 5 June, 2015. Showcasing excellence across a breadth of categories, Indosat received four honours.

Recognised for its work to create a vibrant digital economy in Indonesia and its efforts to position itself as a major part of the digital future of the communities it serves, Indosat was awarded a Bronze Stevie for Most Innovative Company of the Year.

The five Asia Pacific Stevie Awards collected include:

Gold Stevie Winner

MayMay: Best New Service of the Year_Telecommunications

Silver Stevie Winner

Mobile Health Clinics: CSR Campaign of the Year

Ideabox: Best New Product of the Year_Telecommunications

Bronze Stevie Winner

Indosat: Most Innovative Company of the Year

Indosat Google Play Carrier Billing: Best New Product of the Year_Telecommunications

Ooredoo and Indosat’s mobile health clinics received a Silver Stevie in the CSR program of the year category for the real difference the clinics are making in the lives of children across Indonesia. Offered in partnership with the Leo Messi Foundation, the mobile health clinics travel to remote communities to provide health support, education and treatment, where required.  Today the Mobile Health Clinics have provided healthcare services for more than 600,000 children in Indonesia and also provide emergency assistance during natural disasters such as severe flooding or earthquakes.

Receiving a Silver Stevie for its work to stimulate local digital innovation, enable skills development and enhance youth employability IdeaBox is a start-up incubator which offers seed funding and mentoring to mobile technology start-ups in Indonesia. At the heart of the initiative is an acceleration course which takes start-ups from ideas to fruition over the course of a four month period. Two graduates from the program have already received valuations of over US$1million.

Indosat was the first to launch Google Play™ Store Carrier Billing in Indonesia, a service that enables Indosat subscribers to pay for games, apps, content and books by charging the cost to their phone bill, in one click. It received a Bronze Stevie for the innovative way in which it helps customers to pay for digital content via their mobile phone credit, bringing them access to world of digital content including games, apps, music, movies and books that previously remained out of reach as a credit card was required to purchase them.

Ooredoo has celebrated a successful month for awards in Asia, collecting two awards in the Telecom Asia awards ceremony for MayMay and mobile wallet service Dompetku and three in the Asia Communication Awards ceremony for MayMay, ideabox and female CSR program INSPERA.

The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards are the only business awards program to recognize achievement in the workplace in all 22 nations of the Asia-Pacific region. The Stevie Awards are widely considered to be the world’s premier business awards, offering recognition for achievement in programs such as The International Business Awards for more than a decade.
